The M40 series, developed by the US Marine Corps based on the M700 sniper rifle, has been improved over time. Among these, the M40A5 is equipped with a thermal vision mount to significantly improve nighttime shooting capabilities.
Tokyo Marui has pursued the ultimate in both shooting performance and operability when commercializing this bolt-action air rifle. It is a model that allows for a one-hit kill while also focusing on the realism of the appearance and texture.
Three versions are available: a rugged black stock suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, an OD (Olive Drab) stock that enhances camouflage in areas with lots of vegetation, and an FDE (Flat Dark Earth) stock that enhances camouflage in desert areas.
The resin stock was created based on measurements of the real thing, with a realistic shape and texture. The cheek piece at the rear of the stock can be adjusted up and down and the screws can be swapped, just like the real thing. Four spacers are also included to change the thickness of the butt plate, allowing you to customize the setting to suit the shooter's physique.
Metal materials are used for the main parts other than the stock, such as the outer barrel, muzzle brake, receiver, and mount base, achieving a texture similar to the real thing and rigidity that is safe for game use.
It features an indicator that lets you know at a glance whether the bolt is being operated, a bolt handle lock mechanism that prevents accidental operation of the handle while cocking, and a shortened bolt stroke of 68 mm that allows for accurate and quick bolt operation.
The BB loading system reproduces the realistic magazine position, and a safety mechanism prevents bullets from being fed into the chamber when the magazine is not loaded or when an empty magazine is loaded.
An actuator has been added to make it easier to see the sear release position (where the BB bullet is fired) while pulling the trigger. The trigger weight and stroke distance can also be adjusted to suit your preferences.
In addition to the mount base for optical sights, the M40A5 also comes standard with an accessory mount, which allows for the attachment of various optional parts compatible with a 20mm width (Picatinny standard).
It comes with a magazine that holds 35 rounds and has an outer case made of pressed steel just like the real thing.
