Aimpoint Series

This is a long-established company that developed and released the world's first dot sight in 1975.
The US military has put it through rigorous testing over 18 months (high and low temperature, physical impact, and water immersion tests),
It was first officially adopted in 1997.

This is now the most widely used dot sight not only in the United States but also in military and police forces around the world.

The Aimpoint CompM4 sight features an elevated battery compartment and is part of the CompM4 series of sights, making it the finest sights Aimpoint has ever produced. Its improved energy efficiency allows for eight years of continuous use on a single AA battery. The first Aimpoint Comp sight was introduced in 1995, and today the Comp series has over a million sights in use worldwide. All Comp sights are military-tested and combat-proven, meaning they are extremely robust, high-quality products.

The Aimpoint CompM4 series sights are the toughest sights Aimpoint has ever produced and are used by standard infantry regiments in many NATO countries. The optics are extremely durable and can last for eight years on a single AA battery. The Aimpoint CompM4 is designated as the latest version of the US Army's M68CCO (Close-Combat Optic), and Aimpoint has continued that legacy since 1997. The CompM4 has a top-mounted battery compartment, while CompM4s have it located on the bottom. This is the only difference between these sights.
