Tanaka S&W M29 Performance Center 5-inch “V-Comp” Heavy Weight Version 3 Gas Gun (Released September 10, 2025)

Smith & Wesson's customization division, the Performance Center, was established by two skilled in-house gunsmiths in 1990. Initially, the goal was to manufacture models specialized for competitions based on the company's own guns, but with the introduction of dedicated CNC machines, the company evolved to plan and manufacture new models from scratch and sell prototypes exclusively to distributors.

Currently, the company handles a wide range of operations, from the production of premium models in S&W's regular lineup to limited edition items, models with unique designs, products with special functions, and even repairs of standard line firearms. However, all of the manufacturing is done by specialists with experience in handgun shooting, and their high technical skills remain unchanged to this day.

The Pegasus Version 3 gas gun is now available in a heavyweight variation, recreating the "Performance Center Series." This model maximizes the inherent potential of the Pegasus system by improving shooting performance, making it less susceptible to temperature changes and delivering more powerful trajectories.

This "V-comp" specification is a real gun that has a compensator at the front of the barrel and a counterweight at the bottom to reduce recoil. While gas guns lack the recoil-reducing effect of these features, this model faithfully reproduces the Spartan look of the gun. It comes standard with a round rear sight and a semi-wide trigger with a stopper, and is crafted with attention to detail.
The frame is adorned with the Performance Center trademark and realistic engravings, further enhancing the finished appearance. Furthermore, the frame is equipped with a Hogue-style rubber grip with built-in weights and finger channels, and the use of heavy-weight resin for the body significantly improves rigidity and weight.

It has a realistic appearance and feel, making it a very satisfying gun.
