The WORLD CUP CQB SHOOTING COMPETITION , sponsored by G&G ARMAMENT , is held in Taiwan every two years .

At the last tournament in 2019 , a total of 34 national teams from 25 countries participated, and the Japanese team won the championship , taking home a prize of $10,000 .

(Not just 10,000 Taiwanese dollars , but a whopping 10,000 US dollars . At today's exchange rate, that's about 1.4 million yen !)

The 2021 event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic , so the 2023 tournament will be held for the first time in four years .

As the name World Cup suggests, national teams that win qualifying rounds in their respective countries advance to the main tournament in Taiwan and compete for the top spot .

Until last time, there was no large-scale Japanese qualifying tournament to decide the Japanese representatives who would advance to the main tournament ,

Starting this year, with the aim of further boosting Japan's airsoft industry , the selection process will be held in three regions : Kanto, Chubu, and Kansai !

The conditions for participation in the selection process are that participants must be a pair of two people aged 18 or over.

And bring a G&G air gun.

At the regional qualifiers , teams will compete against each other in shooting time at 25 randomly generated targets to determine the top two teams from each location .

This random target is a target shooting game that anyone can enjoy, so it's definitely worth giving it a try to test your skills .

The top two teams from each venue will then advance to the national finals, which will be held at a later date.

The top two teams from each host city will compete again in the domestic finals , a total of 10 teams , and the two teams with the highest scores will be selected to represent Japan.

They have successfully qualified to participate in the World Cup finals to be held in Taiwan .

By the way, when participating in this tournament , G&G will generously cover all round-trip airfare to Taiwan , accommodation , and transportation costs within Taiwan!

The World Cup will be played in pairs , with players working together to complete multiple stages .

Depending on the stage, you may be required to not only shoot at targets while stationary , but also to use your shooting skills while moving .

There are stages that include not only CQB shooting but also sniping, and the difficulty level is set so that some teams will run out of time before clearing all of the stages .

The scores from all stages will be tallied, and the team that comes out on top overall will be awarded a trophy, a certificate, and a cash prize .

At the 2019 tournament , each national team paid a courtesy visit to the Presidential Office of the Republic of China in Taipei the day after the tournament , making it a tournament of a scale that is hard to imagine in Japan.

Such an amazing competition will be held this year , so if you live near the venue where the selection meeting will be held , be sure to enter .

Interestingly, the selection venue for Kyoto and Aichi is the electronics retailer Joshin .
