What is Daniel Defense PCC?
The Daniel Defense PCC series is a 9mm AR-style pistol-caliber carbine (PCC) that debuted at the 2024 SHOT Show. Despite its high price point in the US market, it was highly praised for its high level of perfection, combining the operability of an AR with the lightness of a pistol bullet, and was fully launched in 2025. While the design is direct blowback, it incorporates a Kynshot hydraulic buffer, significantly reducing recoil and ensuring stability during rapid fire.
The lineup mainly consists of three types.
First, the DD PCC 916 is a full-size model with a 16-inch barrel and a 13.5-inch M-LOK handguard, and is designed with an emphasis on stability for competitive shooting and range use.
Next, the "DD PCC SBR" is a short-barreled rifle with an 8.3-inch barrel, a model specialized for maneuverability and tactical mobility.
Furthermore, the "DD PCC Pistol" is a pistol-classified model with the same configuration as an SBR and equipped with an SBA3 brace, achieving both compactness and avoiding legal restrictions.
All three models are compatible with CZ Scorpion magazines, offering convenient magazine availability and capacity. The controls are fully ambidextrous (suitable for both left-handed and right-handed users). The 7075-T6 aluminum receiver and M-LOK handguard, inherited from the higher-end models, are also standard equipment, ensuring high quality and durability.
The target demographic is tactically-oriented civilian users, competitive shooters, law enforcement agencies, and Daniel Defense fans. It has particularly attracted attention from those seeking a highly accurate and reliable PCC, and has earned a stable reputation in the market as an "expensive but reliable option."
