New Winchester M1873 Carbine

The Winchester M1873 is a famous rifle, nicknamed "The Gun That Won the West" along with the Colt Peacemaker (SAA). The SAA and Winchester rifle appear in almost every Western film. This airsoft gun by KTW faithfully reproduces the most distinctive lever action, compressing the spring and accumulating firing power through the operation of the lever. It also reproduces the mechanism where the dust cover opens in conjunction with the lever action, allowing you to enjoy realistic operation. The exterior is also reproduced with high quality; while the stock is plastic, the gun body is all metal. Furthermore, the metal parts have a black oxide finish, so you can enjoy a surface texture not found in painted products.

When the lever is raised, the dust cover opens. When the lever is returned, the dust cover remains open. This is true to the real gun. The round ring behind the side cover is a saddle ring, used for hanging on a horse's saddle.

When the lever is raised, the carrier block visible in front of the lever rises. The stock is made of resin, but the color and finish resemble the real gun's American walnut.

The cassette-type tube magazine containing BBs is inserted here. Push it all the way in and turn the magazine head to the right to securely fix it to the barrel. Holds 37 rounds. After the final shot, 2 rounds remain in the gun. If you turn the gun upside down and cock it twice, the remaining rounds can be fired.

Winchester sight leaves come in various types. Carbines have a shorter range due to their shorter barrels, so this ladder-type sight for aiming at long distances is popular.

Remove the screw on the fore-end ring and shift it slightly forward to reveal the hop-up screw. Turn it right with the included hex wrench to increase the hop-up. It's pre-adjusted for normal hop-up with Marui 0.25g bio BBs.

The adjustable hop-up structure is simple. It uses a 4mm grub screw to directly press against the chamber packing for hop-up. Be careful not to overtighten it until it jams the BB, as this may puncture the packing.

Since it's air cocking, the lever operation may feel quite stiff at first, but it will become smoother with continued use. However, please refrain from dry firing as it puts excessive stress on the piston. The bolt on the lever axle (sold separately for ¥250) may loosen with prolonged use, so re-tighten it occasionally.

When BBs are loaded into the magazine and fired, 1 to 2 rounds remain in the main unit. These remaining rounds can be removed by cocking and firing the gun while it is upside down. Although the magazine should be empty at that time, one round may sometimes remain as shown in the photo.
