The real firearm debuted in 1955 as a high-end revolver using .357 Magnum ammunition. With a design and finish that redefined revolvers, the Python, rich in unique features, has several variations.

This groundbreaking model incorporates Tanaka's unique "Pegasus System" gas revolver mechanism, which successfully reproduces a slim grip by placing the gas tank within the cylinder.

Through its "R-model" evolution, most key parts of Tanaka's conventional models have been adjusted, resulting in a definitive Python gas revolver that faithfully and completely reproduces the Colt action of the real firearm.
