Smith & Wesson's customization division, the Performance Center, was established in 1990 by two skilled in-house gunsmiths. Initially, the goal was to manufacture specialized models for competitions based on the company's own guns. However, with the introduction of specialized CNC machines, the department evolved to plan and manufacture new models from scratch and sell prototypes exclusively to distributors. Today, the Performance Center handles a wide range of tasks, from producing premium models in S&W's regular lineup to limited-edition items, uniquely designed models, products with special features, and even repairs of standard-line firearms. However, all of the manufacturing staff are specialists with experience in handgun shooting, and their high level of technical skill remains unchanged to this day.
We previously released the "Performance Center" series, but discontinued it with the introduction of the "M360" series. Even after discontinuing production, the "M36 Performance Center 3-inch" model remained popular and we received many requests from customers to re-release it. We are now re-releasing it as a Pegasus-style gas gun. Previously, we only released the ABS model, but this time we are releasing the heavyweight version for the first time. The internals of this Version 2 gas gun have also been updated from previous models, with smoother operation and more realistic engravings.
