The M4 URX4 KEYMOD is an M4 carbine style that adopts the URX4 (Upper Receiver Extending 4) KEYMOD handguard developed by Knight's Armament Company (KAC), an American firearms manufacturer. The URX4 is a 4th generation rail system that appeared in 2013. By adopting the KeyMod standard, which balances lightweight and expandability, in place of the conventional quad rail, it has gained high praise as one of the representative handguards of modern ARs.
The URX4's most significant feature is its lightweight and highly rigid integrated construction. It has a full-length Picatinny rail on top and KeyMod interfaces on the sides and bottom, achieving high expandability that allows only necessary accessories to be attached. In addition, its unique IBN (Integrated Barrel Nut) system ensures excellent mounting rigidity while reducing the number of parts, contributing to light handling and high accuracy.
The slim handguard provides excellent holdability and flexibly accommodates a variety of accessories such as red dot sights, scopes, weapon lights, laser devices, and foregrips. It is highly popular not only for competition shooting and tactical use but also among civilian shooters and custom builders for its excellent design.
