Real Steel Overview:
The M4A1 carbine is a 5.56×45mm NATO assault carbine developed by Colt in the United States. It is an evolved model of the M4 carbine, which was based on the M16A2 but shortened in barrel length and overall length for improved portability and maneuverability. A major feature of the M4A1 is the adoption of full-auto firing capability in place of the conventional 3-round burst mechanism. After being adopted by U.S. special operations forces in the 1990s, its excellent performance was recognized, and it is now operated as standard equipment by many militaries and law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Army.
