S&W M64 2-inch Stainless Finish Ver.3 Round Butt Model Gun

The S&W M64 is a stainless steel version of the M10, S&W's iconic K-frame revolver. It is chambered in .38 Special and has a 6-round capacity. The 2-inch barrel model, favored for its compact size and portability, was used for various purposes, including as a backup gun for law enforcement and by plainclothes detectives.

The M64's predecessor, the M10, has a long history dating back to the "Military & Police" model introduced in 1899. Thanks to its manageable K-frame and the .38 Special cartridge, it was used by a wide range of users, including police and military personnel throughout the 20th century, cementing its status as a signature S&W revolver.

The M64 was introduced in the 1970s as a highly corrosion-resistant model based on the M10, utilizing stainless steel. This superior corrosion resistance proved to be a practical advantage, especially in humid regions.
The 2-inch model combines the ease of handling of the K-frame with a compact barrel for excellent maneuverability. It inherits the traditional K-frame style of the "Military & Police" while offering the modern practicality of stainless steel. Features typical of 1970s models, such as the tapered 2-inch barrel and the prominent S&W logo on the side plate, are beautifully represented.

While Tanaka Works has previously produced the "Nickel Finish" model for the M10 silver series, we had held off on producing an M64 "Stainless Finish" to avoid overlap within our silver lineup. However, in response to requests for the M64 as a new variation of the K-frame revolver, we have finally brought it to market. We went beyond just a finish change, meticulously detailing every aspect of its external appearance. Furthermore, we incorporated weights inside the grip, focusing not only on the weightiness expected of a model gun but also on its balance when held. We have also pursued the ultra-smooth operating feel that is unique to S&W revolvers.

Based on the traditional K-frame and refined through meticulous attention to appearance, weight, balance, and operation, the S&W M64 2-inch is now available as the definitive "Version 3" of the Tanaka Works K-frame model gun series.
