Product Description

Western Arms products are gas guns made of high-density plastic, allowing you to enjoy the same realistic weight as a real firearm. The "Magna Blowback" mechanism, which controls the heart of the gun, provides a powerful recoil shock just like a real gun, allowing you to enjoy realistic and impactful shooting. It uses safe low-pressure gas to fire 6mm diameter BBs in the same process as a real firearm.

A valuable piece that adorns the Series 70, boasting unparalleled perfection in the history of the Colt Government, with wooden grips and a premium blued (blackened) finish.

King of military/police pistols: Colt Government

On March 29, 1911, Colt's new large-caliber military pistol was officially adopted by the U.S. Army as the M1911.

After being deployed in combat during World War I, the M1911 underwent improvements, mainly to its external parts, between 1924 and 1926. This improved version was named the A1 and was deployed to the U.S. Army, Navy, and Marine Corps.

Colt then introduced this perfected .45 automatic pistol to the civilian market under the name "Government Model" and achieved great success.

In 1985, the Colt Government was replaced as the standard U.S. military pistol by the Beretta M9, which uses 9mm ammunition. However, the superior design and overwhelming man-stopping power of the .45 caliber, which had protected the United States for over 70 years, continue to inspire timeless trust. It is said that the Marine Corps and Army Special Forces continued to operate their own Government models.

Even today, custom guns that update the Government's design for modern times are adopted by renowned law enforcement agencies, starting with the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the U.S. Marshals' SWAT unit under the Department of Justice, as well as the FBI, LAPD SWAT, and Texas Rangers. The spirit of the time-proven .45 Auto continues to be inherited alongside the latest generation of polymer handguns.

Details reproduced with WESTERN ARMS craftsmanship

The Mk (Mark) 4 Series 70 was produced for the civilian market from 1970 to 1983 and is considered a representative model of Colt during its most stable period of quality. The fact that reissues are still being released even after manufacturing has ceased testifies to its popularity.

Unlike modern tactical customs, the simple yet well-balanced slide and frame, seemingly devoid of unnecessary adornment, are generously crafted from carbon black heavyweight material (hereinafter referred to as HW), which is renowned for its weight and texture.

The right side of the slide reproduces the 1970s rollmark (engraving), which is considered to be the most balanced and excellent. The left side, while simple, proudly features the GOVERNMENT MODEL marking, exclusive to Colt products.

Classic style parts such as the short trigger with wide serrations, the spur hammer, and the minimalist thumb safety lever, which are no longer found on 1911 clones from other manufacturers, are also part of the Colt Government's unique appeal.

Another attractive feature is the use of metal parts such as a machined brass outer barrel with chrome plating, a steel plug and recoil spring guide, and a solidly polished metal chamber cover, achieving a substantial feel in the hand that evokes the heft of a real firearm.

High-Grade Blued (Blackened) Finish

The HW slide and frame are sandblasted for a matte texture, then the sides of the slide are polished.

This enhances the contrast between the matte finish of the curved surfaces and the glossy flat surfaces of the slide, creating a realistic, three-dimensional texture.

By applying the bluing (blackening) process, a unique HW manufacturing method, a deep texture reminiscent of gleaming iron is achieved, which cannot be replicated with conventional paint finishes.

Premium specifications with wooden grips

The grip panels, which add a vibrant accent color, are made of rosewood, also known as red sandalwood in Japan, which is dense and highly durable.

Crafted in the traditional full-checker pattern with neatly carved checkering, it provides a secure grip, while the soft feel and warmth conveyed to the hand are unique to wooden grips made from natural materials.

A proudly leaping horse medallion (Rampant Colt) adorns the center of the grip panel, colored with rosewood's distinctive grain.

Western Arms, which has mastered the Government, has poured its craftsmanship into this exquisite Colt Mk4 Series 70, ready to be delivered to all 1911 fans.

Seize this opportunity to hold the spirit of the Colt .45 Auto, which has survived the ravages of two world wars and still lives on today.
