The SIG MPX Copperhead (3.5 inch) is an ultra-compact 9mm personal defense weapon (PDW) developed by SIG. Featuring the shortest 3.5-inch barrel in the MPX series, it is designed as a model emphasizing extremely high portability and maneuverability.
It operates on a short-stroke gas piston + rotating bolt system and incorporates AR-style controls, achieving high reliability and ease of use. It features an ambidextrous selector, magazine release, bolt release, and charging handle, making it easy to operate for both right and left-handed shooters.
The upper receiver has a monolithic structure, prioritizing compactness. While this limits expandability such as handguard replacement, it significantly reduces size and weight.
Models equipped with a stabilizing brace can be folded and extended, making them highly suitable for close-quarters use as a vehicle-mounted or bag-carried firearm. Since it uses 9mm ammunition, recoil is relatively light. Although muzzle flash is significant, it excels in close-range handling and control.
This model represents the most extreme pursuit of the "more than a handgun, less than a rifle" balance characteristic of the MPX series, making it particularly popular among users focused on close-quarters defense, tactical applications, and portability.
