Tanaka Works Colt Python .357 Magnum 6 inch R-Model Heavyweight Gas Gun

A 6-inch barrel model of the Colt Python.

The real firearm debuted in 1955 as a high-end revolver using .357 Magnum ammunition. The Python, with its distinctive shape and finish that broke the mold of previous revolvers, has several variations.

Equipped with Tanaka's original "Pegasus System" gas revolver mechanism, this revolutionary model successfully reproduces a slim grip by installing a gas tank inside the cylinder.

With the "R-model" conversion, most of the main parts of Tanaka's conventional models have been adjusted, resulting in a definitive Python gas revolver that faithfully and completely reproduces the Colt action of the real firearm.
