What is the MCX Hunter UKSF specification?
This model is a GBBR that recreates a specification of the SIG MCX carbine, known as the "Hunter UKSF style," which was reportedly used by the British Royal Marines Commandos and UKSF (UK Special Forces) in the new rifle selection project "Project Hunter" and for testing in special operations. While "MCX Hunter" is not its official name, it faithfully replicates the MCX configuration, featuring a barrel of around 13 inches and a distinctive gooseneck-shaped handguard, as confirmed in training photos released by the UK Ministry of Defence and through expert analysis.
The base MCX series is a next-generation carbine characterized by a short-stroke piston system and high modularity, primarily in 5.56mm and .300 BLK, with expandability required for modern operations, such as a folding stock and suppressor compatibility. Among these, this style, considered the UKSF specification, is attractive for its compact and practical appearance, emphasizing maneuverability in maritime operations, counter-terrorism missions, and close-quarters combat.
