The AK74 is an assault rifle designed for small-caliber, high-velocity bullets and developed as a successor to the AK47, which has strong recoil and heavy ammunition. The AKS74U (nicknamed Krinkov) is a model with a shorter barrel that makes it easier to handle in tight spaces. With the gas block eliminated, the rear sight has been relocated to the dust cover and the flash hider has also been replaced with a dedicated one. The APS AKS74U (ASK205) is made of full metal and real wood and also features a blowback gimmick, which causes the bolt to move back and forth when fired.
