Product Description
The SIG P229 features a sturdy, durable stainless steel slide for powerful ammunition, such as the .357SIG and .40SW. While similar in size and appearance to the P228, which is chambered for the 9mm Parabellum, there is little compatibility between them, making them essentially separate models.
Until then, SIG pistols mainly had stamped steel slides, but with the introduction of the P229, stainless steel slides became the standard. The P228 was discontinued and is now integrated into the P229.
 
The appeal of SIG pistols lies above all in their reliability, but they are also highly acclaimed for their portable size and the low muzzle jump provided by their heavy stainless steel slide. As a result, the P229 has become SIG's best-selling model, and is used by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Federal Air Marshal's Office, the Secret Service, and many police departments across the United States, chambered in .40SW and .357SIG ammunition.
 
This time, we've recreated the P229 as a firing model gun, featuring an all-heavyweight design except for the barrel. It's the only model gun to feature the .357 SIG cartridge. Its distinctive bottleneck design mimics the .357 SIG round, developed to achieve .357 Magnum-class power in automatic pistols. While the internals are the same as the Evolution 2 (9mm Para type), it comes standard with a four-hole "Kai-on Top" design, delivering a powerful firing sound. (The separately sold cartridge does not have the "Kai-on" designation, but it does feature the "Kai-on Top" design.) The engraving reproduces the 1994 model, the year it first came into widespread use.
