CITY HUNTER 40th Anniversary Model
*This is a popular version that omits the silencer and silencer attachment function that were included in the previous "Saeba Ryo model."
The popular manga "City Hunter" is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, and the "City Hunter 40th Anniversary Original Art Exhibition" will be held at the Ueno Royal Museum in Ueno, Tokyo from Saturday, November 22nd.
To commemorate this, we received a request to "create a Saeba Ryo model for the 40th anniversary package," and have once again collaborated with toy gun manufacturer Tanaka Works.
The Colt Python used by the main character, Ryo Saeba, is modeled after the Colt Python 4-inch R-model heavyweight model gun.
Unlike the previous model, this time it comes in a special package featuring original artwork by Hojo Tsukasa commemorating the 40th anniversary.
The cartridge bullet has been changed to a "metal jacket" type to match the worldview of "City Hunter." A special spring is also included to reduce the load when firing blanks.
Since this is a model gun, it can use realistic cartridges. It also comes with a spring specifically for dry firing, a first for Tanaka Works.
Let me explain what the benefits of having this spring specifically for dry firing are.
Due to their realistic structure, model guns are subject to strict regulations to prevent illegal modifications, and are made with materials that are "intentionally weak." In revolver-type model guns, the strongest impact is generally when the hammer falls, and when this action is performed without gunpowder (dry firing), the impact of the hammer coming down is directed directly at the gun body.
Model guns are weakly made to begin with, and if this is repeated, the strong impact of the hammer down can ultimately damage the product.
To reduce the inevitable deterioration of model guns, there is an item called a dummy cartridge that absorbs the impact of dry firing. This model, however, uses the included dry firing spring, allowing a single cartridge to be used for both firing and dry firing.
In other words, this product easily meets the needs of those who want to have fun moving things around but are reluctant to use gunpowder due to maintenance and noise issues, making it a very welcome feature for enthusiasts.
In addition, in light of the recent rise in raw material prices, we have created a popular version that does not include the silencer or silencer attachment function that was included in the previous "Saeba Ryo model" so that more fans can get their hands on it.
As proof that it was tuned by the legendary gunsmith Kenichiro Mashiba, the frame is engraved with Mashiba's initials, drawn by Tsukasa Hojo. This Python is custom-made based on a highly accurate 1969 model, and the serial number "E1919" (Ike Ike) is the same as the car's license plate number.
