Smith & Wesson's customization division, the Performance Center, was established in 1990 by two skilled in-house gunsmiths. Initially, the goal was to manufacture specialized models for competitions based on the company's guns. However, with the acquisition of specialized CNC machines, the company evolved to design and manufacture models from scratch and sell prototypes exclusively to distributors. Today, the company's operations range from the production of premium models from the regular S&W lineup, to limited editions, uniquely designed models, models with added special features, and repairs of standard line items. However, all of the production staff are specialists with experience in handgun shooting, and their high level of technical skill remains unchanged to this day.
We previously released the "Performance Center" series, but discontinued it with the introduction of the "M360" series. Even after discontinuing production, the "M36 Performance Center 2-inch" model remained popular and we received many requests from customers to re-release it. We are now re-releasing it as a Pegasus-style gas gun. Previously, we only released the ABS model, but this time we are releasing the heavyweight version for the first time. The internals of this Version 2 gas gun have also been updated from previous models, with smoother operation and more realistic engravings.
