[Tanaka] SMOLT Revolver 6-inch HW Ver.3 Square Butt Model Gun

Among S&W's 1970s .357 Magnum revolvers, there were no models equipped with under-barrel weights (full lugs). Rival Colt's Python featured more precise barrel processing, and the increased weight of the under-lug reduced recoil during firing. The Python's rifling was also highly effective, imparting a stronger spin to the bullet, and it was acclaimed for its excellent linear stability. However, while the Python's trigger action was smooth, it was difficult to capture the exact moment the hammer fell. Conversely, the S&W action was considered advantageous in terms of trigger control. So, skilled gunsmiths combined the best of both worlds to create the ultimate hybrid revolver, the "Smolt."
Among them, Bill Davis of California is well known, and apart from the standard type that has a locking ball installed in a yoke, his early works, which are elaborate in that they lock the tip of the ejector rod, are rare and highly sought after.
This model was a custom build, using a S&W K-frame revolver as the base and specifying the Python's barrel length. Our previous Smolt was based on a round-butt K-frame. However, in response to requests from older fans for a square-butt model, we created a square-butt Smolt. Not content with simply changing the frame, we also changed it to a wide hammer and wide trigger, and added an oversized grip, giving it a classic, nostalgic look.
Of course, the inside is Tanaka's reliable K-Frame Ver.3 mechanism, making it a firing model gun that allows you to enjoy smooth and controllable SW action.
(In Japan, it was known as SMYTHSON, but in the US it was called SMOLT, a combination of the manufacturer's name. With the latest version 3, the model name has also been changed to SMOLT.)
