Introducing a custom gear set for electric airsoft guns designed for high quality and high performance.
Born from H.T.G. Basic's "Kuro (Black) Concept," this gear set is compatible with Ver. 2, Ver. 3, and Ver. 6 gearboxes and features the industry's first spiral gears and all-helical gears.

[A new proposal for the brushless motor era]
The SSG14.4:1 is a new generation standard gear set that re-engineers conventional brush motor gear ratios and optimizes them for the characteristics of brushless motors.

With conventional 18:1 ratios, the gear ratio tended to be too low, and with 13:1, the cycle was too high. With 16:1 or 12:1, there were challenges such as noise and gear stripping due to gear shape issues.
This product re-examines the output gear ratio of the bevel gear and sets a new optimal ratio of 14.4:1.
This maximizes the high torque and high-efficiency rotational characteristics unique to brushless motors while suppressing excessive cycles.

To cope with the increased load on the gears, all gears have been made into high-precision helical gears, improving meshing accuracy and enabling smooth and quiet operation.

Furthermore, this is the first "Kuro Gear" series to adopt a hollow-out structure (lightweighting process).
In the SSG, both the counter gear and sector gear are skeletonized, significantly reducing weight from 22g to 16g for the counter gear and 30g to 22g for the sector gear, compared to the 18:1 ratio gear.
This reduces inertia, leading to quicker startup and shutdown, and improved trigger response.

In addition, the anti-reversal latch drum has an 8-tooth configuration, ensuring both reliable operation and high durability.

The SSG14.4:1 is the new standard gear for quietness, high efficiency, and high response, tailored for the brushless motor era.

[Integrated design with high-precision CNC machining]
High-precision integrated design through CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining eliminates variations in compatibility, noise, and transmission efficiency between gears. This allows for optimal performance without worrying about combining with products from other manufacturers.

[Adoption of high-strength steel material]
S45C and 20CrMnTi (chromium-manganese-titanium alloy gear steel) are used. The material and hardness of each part are adjusted according to the characteristics of electric airsoft guns, improving durability and reliability.

[Changes for higher speed and easier setup]
To improve the response of brushless motors that instantly increase rotation, such as those used in electronic triggers, or to support pre-cocking, the tappet pin position of the sector gear has been moved to a later position than in conventional models.
This improves the flexibility and ease of tappet plate setup.

It allows for a setting where the nozzle opening timing and the piston's relationship can be adjusted, with minimal change in cutoff timing.
Also, the nozzle closing timing can be adjusted by cutting the lower part of the tappet plate's wing, which improves the flexibility of processing shape and makes nozzle control easier.

Note: There are differences from conventional settings, so please test thoroughly before use.

[Effects and advantages of spiral and helical gears]
◇Spiral Gear (adopted for pinion gear and bevel gear)
・High torque transmission efficiency: Multiple teeth mesh simultaneously as the spiral tooth surfaces come into contact. This results in smooth torque transmission and resistance to large loads.
・Noise reduction: Increased contact area between teeth and smooth meshing significantly reduce vibration and noise.
・Improved durability: Stress on the tooth surface is distributed, resulting in less wear and longer life.
*The pinion gear for D-type motor shafts is included.
Please note that it cannot be used with O-type shafts such as our "Kuro Motor".

◇Helical Gear (adopted for counter gear and sector gear)
・Smooth operation: The obliquely cut tooth profile provides continuous meshing with less impact.
・High rotational performance: Stable transmission is possible even at high rotation speeds, contributing to an improved firing cycle.
・Improved quietness: Contact is smoother compared to spur gears, reducing noise inside the gearbox.

◇Spiral bevel gear specification changes
・Due to its structure, the spiral bevel gear is difficult to integrally mold and is therefore assembled.
・The anti-reversal drum has been improved to reduce play by changing from conventional MIM molding to CNC machining.

[Further performance improvement with meticulous shim adjustment]
Precise shim adjustment minimizes backlash (play) between gears, leading to efficient torque transmission and improved response.

・Replacing the pinion gear on a brushless motor requires skill and knowledge. If you are not confident or do not have the proper tools, please consult a specialized shop.
・Cannot be used in combination with gears from other manufacturers or conventional spur gears.
・The teeth that pull the piston on the sector gear of the spiral helical gear set are 16 spur teeth (DSG has 8 teeth).
・Processing or adjustment may be required for installation.
・Please apply threadlocker to the set screw for pinion fixation.
