Every P228 delivers the highest level of reliability right out of the box . This absolute sense of security is the reason it has been adopted by many law enforcement agencies. It is such a high-quality model that it is said that the only other industrial product that can rival the P228 is the P226.
The P228, a compact version of the P226, features a magazine that holds 13 9mm rounds and allows for easy recoil control. Its ergonomic grip and trigger placement make it highly versatile and easy to use, even for women with small hands. Since 2005, the P229, compatible with cartridges other than 9mm, has been released, inheriting the P228's distinctive features. However, the P228's reputation as a high-performance model specialized for 9mm ammunition remains unwavering, and it continues to be used today. Released in 1989, this model quickly gained widespread adoption. However, due to its steel slide and aluminum alloy frame, its rust resistance was somewhat low, and manufacturers took measures such as nickel-plating the slide. While stainless steel guns began to become more common in the early 1990s, they were still uncommon at the time due to the difficulty of processing and production costs. Some models exported to the United States and other countries were nickel-plated by gun shops or distributors, but genuine nickel-plated models from the manufacturer were rare, and with stainless steel models becoming the standard from the late 1990s, genuine nickel-plated models are now extremely rare.
This time, we have created an all-silver model gun inspired by the nickel-plated P228. Plating is our specialty, but using ABS resin as the base inevitably makes it lightweight. To address this, we have used a paint finish based on the all-heavyweight model (note that the barrel is not made of heavyweight material). For the paint, we have adopted the "warm silver" paint that has also been well-received on the DE.50 and P226. The warm silver color has a texture reminiscent of the old nickel-plated finish.
While maintaining its crisp, light blowback, the P228 not only boasts an improved sense of weight thanks to the heavyweight resin construction, but also inherits the improvements from the Evolution 2. The recoil guide incorporates a buffer system that reduces impact to the slide, and an elastomer hammer stop on the frame absorbs the hammer's impact. Furthermore, the P228 features a stainless steel spring and coated pressed parts, making it resistant to dirt during firing.
