Tanaka Works Beretta 92FS Inox "Ghost" Evolution II Cerakote Heavyweight Model Gun

Limited quantity item

In 1983, Beretta developed the 92SB-F, an improved version of the 92SB, which was adopted by the U.S. military as the M9 in 1985. However, in 1987, a slide fracture occurred, and an investigation determined that insufficient heat treatment at Beretta's Italian factory was the cause. Unable to meet the U.S. military's large orders, the slide was initially manufactured in Italy and the frame in the United States. However, since 1989, all production has been transferred to the U.S. factory, making Beretta an all-Made-in-USA product. In response to the slide fracture in 1989, a minor improvement was made to the safety feature of enlarging the hammer pin so that, in the event of a slide fracture, it would disengage from the groove and stop, preventing it from flying backward. This improvement was also implemented in the civilian model, and the model was renamed from the 92F to the 92FS.
Of course, production continued in Italy, where the "92F" was updated to the "92FS."
In 1990, a new variation of the 92FS, the "INOX," was released. "INOX" stands for "Inoxidizable," and as the name suggests, the slide and barrel were made of stainless steel, and the frame was also anodized in silver. Unlike the standard black carbon steel finish of the Beretta 92FS, this model had a shiny silver metallic appearance and was loved as a European auto with a dignity and elegance that was unusual for a military-style rifle, and it is a model that is still on sale today.
The INOX has undergone several upgrades over its nearly 30-year history, and the current USA-made INOX is a two-tone model that uses the black control levers of the standard model.
However, as mentioned above, the early Italian-made "INOX" was uniformly silver in color except for the rear sight, firing pin block pin, and grip, and this model is now considered rare and is traded at high prices at auctions.
Perhaps because the silver body resembled a ghost, or perhaps because it gave off a silent, shadowy impression, this model came to be nicknamed "Ghost." This all-silver 92FS is so popular that a conversion kit is even sold to turn the current "INOX" into a Ghost-like model.

This time, for our Evolution 2 version of our Beretta 92FS model gun, we've recreated the highly acclaimed early Italian-made INOX "Ghost." Not only are the control levers silver, but the frame also features a straight dust cover and no warning markings. The front sight features a red dot, and for improved visibility, the previously black rear sight has also been replaced with a red dot. The gun is constructed from heavy-weight resin and finished with Cerakote®. The exquisitely colored slide, frame, and barrel, resembling the real thing, are painted by Suzutomo Coating, a group of artisans who inherited the techniques from Suzutomo. After the Cerakote finish, the new gun features laser engraving for clear visibility. The distinctive control levers are recreated with plated parts. The grip screw, trigger pin, hammer pin, and recoil spring guide are machined from stainless steel. While the previous model only featured a silver-colored magazine bumper, this model also features custom silver-colored magazine follower and magazine case.
Please try out the uncompromising INOX and experience it for yourself.
