What is the JAKL Rifle?

The PSA JAKL rifle is a modern sporting rifle developed by the American firearms manufacturer Palmetto State Armory (PSA). Its greatest feature is its long-stroke gas piston action, designed to offer reliability and operability unlike the traditional AR-15. Its greatest feature is its elimination of the buffer tube and buffer spring typically found in ARs, allowing for a folding stock and compact configuration.

The JAKL receiver features a monolithic construction for increased rigidity and is compatible with standard Mil-Spec AR-15 lowers (although a conversion adapter may be required). This design allows for the use of standard AR magazines and offers ample accessory options. It also features convenient features for real-life shooting, such as an adjustable gas block and a side charging handle that can be configured for left or right handed use.

There are multiple barrel lengths and calibers available, most commonly the 5.56 NATO model, but other caliber variations such as the .300 AAC Blackout and .308 Winchester (JAKL-10) are also available. These can be selected to suit your application and shooting style, and are available in a variety of short barrel models from rifle to pistol size.
