Smith & Wesson Performance Center Military and Police R-8 5-inch Heavyweight Version 2 Model Gun
This tactical revolver, crafted by S&W's customization division, the Performance Center, is finally available as a model gun! Unveiled in 2006, this .357 Magnum 8-shot model features an under-barrel and mounting rail. Compared to its predecessor, the TRR8, minor improvements were made, such as filling in the ejector rod slit and integrating the under-barrel mount into the barrel. As a result, it now offers more secure mounting for modules like weapon lights and laser sights, making it a model worthy of the classic "M&P" (Military and Police) name. While both the TRR8 and M&P R8 were well-received by some enthusiasts at the time of their release, the general market was lukewarm, with a sense of "revolvers, now that's too late." However, this model was actually developed at the request of urban SWAT teams. In emergencies, "shieldmen," who carry ballistic shields and rush into the front lines, tend to use handguns as their primary weapons because they tend to be bulky. However, automatic pistols are prone to jamming if the grip is shallow, and they also suffer from the problem of "bunker jams" that occur when the shield and slide interfere with each other. S&W thoroughly eliminated all uncertainties and took advantage of the reliability and dependability of revolvers to come up with an answer: the 8-shot firepower of the .357 Magnum. That answer is the "M&P R8."
This tactical revolver has been recreated as a firing model gun. It features not only the aforementioned detachable mounting rail, but also an integrated under-rail at the bottom of the barrel, a V-notch adjustable rear sight, weighted Hogue-type rubber grips, and an internal lock, making it a unique model that stands out from ordinary revolvers. It also includes one full moon clip. Enjoy loading and ejecting eight rounds at once using this model's signature full moon clip. A dedicated loading tool is also included for easy loading and ejection of bullets into the full moon clip, which can be difficult to do with bare hands. This unique "tactical revolver" from the Performance Center is a must-have item for model gun, revolver, and law enforcement enthusiasts alike.
