Tanaka S&W .38 Chiefs Special (Pre-M36) 2-inch Square Butt "Joker" Model HW Ver.2 Gas Gun

This model is a reproduction of the square-butt frame type from the time when the M36 was still called the ".38 Chief Special" (commonly known as the "Pre-M36"), before S&W switched to the model number system in 1957. This model is identical to the Pre-M36, the rifle that Joaquin Phoenix's character Arthur uses to transform into the Joker in the award-winning 2019 film "Joker." This square-butt J-frame toy gun is believed to be the first commercial product from a resin toy gun manufacturer. This Chief Special features the square-butt design, which was introduced in the early 1950s. In addition to the distinctive square-butt grip, the side plate also features a four-screw fastening. We've also newly created the distinctive stepped flat thumb piece seen on the Pre-M36, which is taller than Tanaka's early M36 models. This model will be released based on the latest J-frame M36 Version 2 gas gun equipped with the Pegasus system.
