The Q Honey Badger is an ultra-lightweight, compact rifle chambered in .300 AAC Blackout (.300 BLK), developed and marketed by American firearm manufacturer Q, LLC. Its origins trace back to the Honey Badger project, which Q founder Kevin Brittingham was involved with during his tenure at Advanced Armament Corporation (AAC). It was developed with the goal of creating a platform that maintains the compactness and superior quietness of the MP5SD while offering higher shooting performance and range.
Its most significant feature lies in its unique design, which combines a short barrel with the .300 BLK cartridge while inheriting the excellent ergonomics of the AR platform. The .300 BLK is highly effective even in short barrels and is compatible with both subsonic and supersonic ammunition. It is specifically designed to achieve high levels of suppression when used in combination with a suppressor and subsonic rounds.
The Q version of the Honey Badger features a roughly 7-inch barrel, a proprietary PDW-style telescoping stock, and a slim M-LOK free-float handguard. Furthermore, Q's unique design philosophy, which emphasizes suppressor integration, is incorporated throughout, including a fast-twist barrel and a 25° tapered muzzle.
The Honey Badger is a firearm that fuses the compactness and quietness of an MP5-class weapon with the performance and expandability unique to a rifle platform. Combined with its distinctive clear anodized finish and minimalist design, it is now widely known as both a symbol of Q and as one of the most iconic modern PDWs chambered in .300 BLK.
