Developed in Germany in 1940 and active in World War II, the MP-40 (Maschinenpistole 40), widely known as the "Schmeisser," was a revolutionary new weapon. Its predecessor, the MP-38, incorporated the world's first steel-tube folding stock and a bakelite foregrip. The MP-40 was a model that improved the MP-38's productivity through pressing and spot welding. SRC's MP-40 CO2GBB features a steel press receiver and reproduces open-bolt operation. The CO2 magazine has been developed specifically for Japan with safety-focused improvements.
