All steel is machined and blackened. This is a steel part that is second only to the steel grip screw in that it is "unusually found on the market."

Pursuing ease of sighting without dropping the shoulder
This product has two distinctive features. First, it is a steel AK47 part, so it is recommended for "AK47s that have been fully customized with steel." Second, the flat top shape has been recreated by cutting. The genuine sight is made of zinc die-cast, so both sides sag. This has been achieved with the precision that only a fully CNC machined sight can provide, resulting in a "solid" sight.
