The M4 URX3.1 is an M4 carbine style that features the URX3.1 (Upper Receiver Extending 3.1) handguard developed by Knight's Armament Company (KAC), an American firearms manufacturer. The URX series is an evolution of KAC's long-standing free-float rail system, and the URX3.1 emerged as a model that combines lightness, operability, and expandability at a high level. It has been adopted for KAC rifles such as the SR-15 series and other AR platforms, and is highly regarded as one of the representative custom styles of modern ARs.

The most notable features of the URX3.1 are its high accuracy due to its free-float structure and its lightweight, slim modular handguard. The top features a full-length Picatinny rail, and the sides and bottom adopt a modular structure that allows dedicated rail sections to be attached where needed. This allows for flexible compatibility with various accessories such as weapon lights, laser devices, and foregrips, while its slim, easy-to-grip shape achieves excellent handling performance.

In addition, KAC's unique barrel nut structure achieves both high fixing rigidity and excellent maintainability. The top rail, which extends straight from the receiver, is also suitable for mounting optical sights and night vision devices, allowing for flexible setups according to the application. Its design philosophy was inherited by the successor URX4 and greatly influenced the development of current modular handguards.
