Tanaka S&W M10 M&P 2-inch .38 Special Square Butt HW Ver.3 Gas Gun

This model has its roots in a revolver that debuted in 1899 under the name "Military & Police." It is an evolution of an earlier model called the .38 Hand Ejector, and was given the M10 numbering after World War II. Used by the U.S. and British military during the war, it remained in widespread use by many law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and abroad for decades after the war. The "Military & Police" name has remained a common name ever since, and the lineup continues to expand today as the "Military & Police" series.
Continuing this tradition, the M10 2-inch model now includes a "square butt model." It seems that Americans with larger hands disliked round butts and often opted for square butts, which allowed for a firmer grip. The M10 2-inch model was born out of a desire for a more compact model, as the M36 Chief Special's five-round capacity was insufficient. This model was also approached by law enforcement agencies, and was adopted as an off-duty concealed carry revolver, proving its proven success.
