Product Description

The Tokarev, one of the most well-known handguns in the Eastern bloc, is now available as a model gun from Tanaka Works!

New model guns are always a welcome sight in this day and age, and when they're automatics, it's hard not to jump at the chance.

This is Tanaka's latest product, which uses the "Evo2" cartridge technology that is being applied to their new automatic model guns.

Tanaka, who inherited the molds of the now-defunct "Hudson," has revived this work after several decades. Last year, they also released the Desert Eagle.

This is a very exciting model, as it has been made using modern technology and is a Tokarev made by Tanaka!

By the way, the Hudson model was available in silver as well as black. I've handled both, and the slightly unorthodox silver was very beautiful, so I'd love to see Tanaka, who has a reputation for plating technology, release one as well. (The magazines and cartridges sold separately are called "For the Tokarev Series," so it seems likely that variations are being planned.)

The TT-33 was a simplified version of the TT-1930, designed by Fyodor Tokarev of the Tokarevtura Arsenal and adopted as the official pistol of the former Soviet Army, for mass production.

Despite its popularity, it was only in use for 18 years until it was replaced by the Makarov in 1951, and originals are now rare. Among these rare TT-33s, we have reproduced the model manufactured at the Tula Arsenal in 1939, the year World War II began, as a firing blowback model gun.

As it is intended for military use, it does not have a safety device to prevent accidental discharge, and it is made with a focus on reducing the number of parts and prioritizing productivity, a feature that remains true to its design as a model gun. It is equipped with shock-absorbing parts (recoil buffer, hammer buffer, etc.) in various places, and despite being made of a heavy weight that is vulnerable to impacts, it has been designed to be durable and resistant to breakage, making it a firing model gun that lives up to the concept of the original.

The ammunition used is the 7.62x25mm Tokarev round, manufactured to the same dimensions as the bottlenecked 7.62x25mm round used in the German Mauser C96. This has also been recreated as a new cartridge. The cartridge is primarily made of scratch-resistant ultra-duralumin, and the proven high-pitched top, used in the Evo.2, produces a clear firing sound.

In addition, the magazine parts are treated with SQP, which has excellent rust and scratch resistance. Even those who prefer firing will be pleased with the top-level firing performance.
