What is the PP-19-01 Vityaz?
The PP-19-01 Vityaz (meaning "knight" or "hero" in Russian) is a 9x19mm caliber submachine gun developed by Kalashnikov Concern (formerly Izhmash) in Russia. It has been officially adopted by Russian special forces and Interior Ministry troops since 2008. Designed based on the AK-74 series, it features high parts interchangeability and a reliable structure. The operating system is a simple closed-bolt blowback, with a rate of fire of approximately 700-800 rounds per minute. It comes standard with a 30-round magazine, and immediate reloading is possible by linking two magazines.
There are also variants such as the "Vityaz-SN," which features a foldable metal side-folding stock, AK-style selector and grip, as well as a Picatinny rail compatible top cover and side mount. Designed for urban and indoor operations, it is highly regarded for its portability and accuracy, specializing in close-quarters combat.
