Product Description

In 1873, a revolver was born at the dawn of the American West, and would go on to reshape history and culture. This was the Colt Single Action Army. Favored by heroes in Western movies and held in the hands of some of history's most renowned gunfighters, this gun, along with the name "Peacemaker," became more than just a weapon; it became a symbol of an era.

Tanaka Works commercialized this legendary revolver in 1999 as the first in the "PEGASAS System" gas revolver series, featuring an innovative internal structure. By integrating the magazine and gas, the complex mechanism was simplified to the limit. Yet, we managed to achieve both a realistic appearance, a smooth trigger pull, and a smooth feel.

This system shocked many gun fans, and in 2005 it was given a minor makeover as a detachable cylinder model, which made the cylinder detachable just like a real gun, making it more realistic, and also made it easier to maintain, as it made it easier to charge gas.

The popularity of the Pegasus SAA led to the development of competitions using airsoft guns, such as "cowboy shooting" (a Western-style shooting match) and "fast draw" (a time trial shooting using an SAA in which competitors compete to see who can draw a gun from a holster and fire the fastest).

The problems with the Pegasus SAA were also revealed during this process. In the above competitions, speed is emphasized with quick firing and double-handed shooting, which places stress on various parts of the gun that is not normally expected for airsoft guns, so users have dealt with this by customizing their own guns.

As repair requests came to our company, it became clear that the SAA was a gun that took a lot of abuse compared to other automatic pistols and double-action revolvers.

In response to these needs, plans to refine the SAA began to emerge within the company around 2018. The design was based on the development concept of "high durability, more realistic, and capable of being used in airsoft and fast-draw games." The cylinder fixation, which had been a concern with detachable cylinders, was changed to a base pin that penetrates the cylinder like a real gun. A new system called "PEGASAS II" was adopted, in which the base pin strikes a valve inside the cylinder. (Patented) A variable hop-up mechanism was also incorporated for use in airsoft games. Furthermore, the SAA adopted an internal magazine system like other Pegasus-style models, reducing the magazine capacity, a limitation of revolvers. Furthermore, a 10-round reserve was added in the ejector tube, allowing for a total firing capacity of 25 rounds. Other improvements included the addition of cushioning and reinforcement parts to internal parts subject to stress, and each part was made more realistic.

In addition, consideration has been given to existing users, and some parts (hammer, trigger, bolt, backstrap, grip, etc.) are designed to be compatible with detachable cylinder models.

In 2023, the PEGASAS system underwent further evolution with a major redesign, the PEGASAS II. This model maintains the realistic appearance while pursuing a structure and operation feel closer to a real gun. The design, which penetrates the base pin and the mechanism that directly strikes the valve internally (*Utility Model Patent), greatly improves maintainability and rigidity.

Furthermore, it is equipped with a variable HOP mechanism, which significantly improves the "fun of shooting" in terms of accuracy and distance. In addition to the existing inner magazine type, the ejector tube can store a reserve of 10 rounds, making it extremely practical, with an effective firing capacity of 25 rounds.

Now, the long-awaited steel-finish model has been released in the PEGASAS II series, a 7.5-inch model. The original ABS model was heavy enough to be mistaken for a heavyweight model, but this model now features a steel-finish plating. The hammer section is also finished in a gray steel finish, and the sides are polished to create a two-tone hammer. (This is a limited edition only for this model.)

The Pegasus 2 gas gun, a steel-finish model long awaited by Western movie fans, will be adding a "Cavalry" model.
