The 1911 custom is often impressively featured as a distinguishing element for professional characters not only in the real world but also in movies, anime, and games.
The Colt Government Snake Match from WESTERN ARMS is a leading popular Magna Blowback model, inspired by a 1911 custom that appeared in a mega-hit franchise with over 60 million units sold worldwide.
This model, which the protagonist loved and used ever since he fell for its perfection, is set to be a custom-made Government based on the U.S. military's standard issue pistol, the Colt M1911A1.
Its appeal lies in its construction as a "full house" tactical custom, where "all parts are meticulously scrutinized and customized," a detail that even impressed the protagonist, a seasoned veteran.
It incorporates unique details born from the virtual world, distinct from real firearms, and harnesses machining techniques to create an unparalleled charm.
Solid-finish slide with an outstanding metallic feel
To replicate the original setting of being fitted with a polished, reinforced slide, the exterior parts are made from carbon black heavyweight resin (hereinafter referred to as CBHW), and a side-polished finish, a well-established manufacturing method unique to WESTERN ARMS, is adopted.
The slide and frame are first sandblasted to a matte dark gray tone, then only the left and right sides of the slide are polished, leaving hairline marks for a solid texture. By utilizing the characteristics of CBHW, a heavy two-tone finish reminiscent of metal is reproduced, creating an ineffable beauty that cannot be achieved with conventional paint finishes.
The slide is based on a blank government-sized slide. The top of the slide is flattened to prevent light reflections when aiming.
In addition to the rear, traditional Colt genuine-style cocking serrations are added to the front, making slide operation easier under various conditions. Furthermore, the decorative processing on the upper edge of the serrations, the deeply angled leaf cut similar to the Colt M1911 (the predecessor of the M1911A1), and the marking believed to be a manufacturing control number engraved only on the left side are all luxurious details reproduced through machining.
The enlarged front sight features a white dot specification, providing an excellent sight picture.
The low-mounted rear sight has a uniquely voluminous shape, making it resistant to deformation even if dropped, and a snag-free form that minimizes catching on clothing, making it an excellent tactical sight.
The aluminum machined bushing-type barrel is equipped with M14 threads (right-hand thread) allowing a suppressor to be directly attached without the need for adapters. The barrel body is machined from aluminum to reduce weight, minimizing the impact on slide movement when a suppressor is attached.
The steel recoil spring plug, which does not use a full-length guide rod, is paired with a matte silver barrel bushing reminiscent of stainless steel.

The frame newly adopts a custom frame with 40 LPI (lines per inch) checkering engraved on the front strap, and a high-grip processing is added at the base of the trigger guard. This is designed to allow for a higher grip when holding with two hands, including the weak hand.
The match-grade trigger, with an internal adjustment screw, is characterized by its long type yet complex machining, resulting in thorough weight reduction.
The hammer employs a double-hole ring hammer designed for faster lock time. The grip safety, cut away to prevent interference with the ring hammer, is a pro-use specification where its function as a safety device is cancelled to eliminate malfunctions.
The extended thumb safety incorporates intricate cuts, maintaining improved operability while featuring a snag-free, minimalist design.
Similarly, the slide stop, with an extended operating part, is newly manufactured from machined aluminum, offering excellent sharpness in detail and reliable operational performance due to its light weight.
To prevent accidental operation, the magazine catch is of normal length, but its operating surface is checkered, ensuring reliable magazine release when needed.
The flat mainspring housing is a highly coveted custom part, reproducing the fierce snake-skin stippling, and its intricate aesthetic forms a highlight of this model's rear view.
The magazine insert opening at the bottom of the frame is beveled, a design feature to ensure smooth magazine changes.
Premium specification with standard real wooden grips
The grip panels, which add a vivid accent color, are made from rosewood, also known as "shitan" in Japan, which is dense and highly durable.
Crafted in the traditional full-checker specification with neatly engraved checkering all over, it provides a firm hold, while the soft feel and warmth transmitted to the hand when gripped are unique charms of wooden grips made from natural materials.
The front part of the grip panel faithfully reproduces the "knife fit shape," which is customized to facilitate a double-hand hold while holding a knife with the weak hand.

Slide and Frame Maintenance
The surface finish of the carbon black heavyweight material prioritizes a texture that enhances the material's feel and does not undergo painting or coating treatments.
Therefore, unlike painted finishes, the alloy powder layer mixed into the material is exposed, which may cause oxidation or discoloration over time or with frequent use.
After use, we recommend regular maintenance, such as wiping off dirt (like hand oils) from the material's surface with a separately sold silicone spray.
