S&W M640 “Centennial” .38spl 2-inch Stainless Finish Ver. 2 

The long-awaited “M640 Centennial” is now available in the “Centennial” series, known for its hammerless revolvers designed for self-defense.
The stainless-steel “M640 Centennial” was introduced as the successor to the steel M40 Centennial. It retains the double-action-only (DAO) design with a concealed hammer, and because this operating system was judged to provide sufficient safety, the grip safety found on earlier models was eliminated. Combining the excellent corrosion resistance of stainless steel with the compact J-frame, it has long been supported as a model designed with concealed carry in mind. Today, the lineup also includes the “Magnum J-Frame” specification, which supports .357 Magnum.
 
This model is the .38 Special-specification M640. It is a highly reliable model that was once adopted by the NYPD (New York City Police Department) as a backup firearm.
The “S&W M640 Centennial Ver. 2 Gas Gun” features Tanaka’s proprietary Pegasus system. While reproducing details unique to the M640, such as the concealed hammer, firing pin located on the frame, and DAO design, it also delivers stable operation.
The exterior features a new plating, and the grip is equipped with an easy-to-hold ankle-mic style. It now debuts as a gas gun that condenses all its appeal into a compact body.
