Product Description

In 1983, Beretta introduced the 92SB-F, a slightly modified version of the Model 92SB. It was intended to participate in trials to upgrade the service pistol used by the U.S. military to replace the longtime M1911A1. The 92SB-F won the rigorous program and was selected as the new U.S. military sidearm in 1985, officially designated "M9." Beretta shortened the long model name from 92SB-F to "92F" and began selling it commercially.
However, in 1987, an accident occurred in the U.S. military. The slide broke off during firing, hitting the shooter in the face and causing injuries. Furthermore, reports were received that cracks had been found in the slide and frame during routine inspections in 1987 and 1988. There were also several other incidents of locking block breakage, and the U.S. military took this seriously and ordered Beretta to investigate.
An investigation determined that the slide damage was caused by insufficient heat treatment during the manufacturing process at the Italian factory, not a structural issue, and that the problem was resolved by replacing it with a genuine part. However, this incident led to long-standing negative publicity for Beretta. Later, when it was discovered that the US military had used ammunition with higher pressure than the NATO standard, Beretta protested the incident and sued the US government for defamation, winning the case.
Unable to keep up with the large orders placed by the US military, the slides were initially manufactured in an Italian factory and the frames in an American factory, but since 1989 all production has been moved to American factories, making Berettas entirely "MADE IN USA."
In 1989, following the slide breakage mentioned above, a minor safety measure was implemented, enlarging the hammer pin to prevent the slide from flying backwards in the unlikely event of a breakage. This improvement was also made at the expense of the government as a result of the lawsuit mentioned above. Similar improvements were made to the model sold to the public, and the model was changed from "92F" to "92FS."
Since then, the Beretta has regained its credibility and received several additional orders, becoming the official sidearm of the five branches of the U.S. military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard). It continued to be a trusted companion to U.S. soldiers for 32 years, experiencing major battles in the Gulf, Iraq, and Afghanistan until the M17 pistol was adopted by the U.S. military in 2017.

This time, we have modeled the sidearm that supported the US military for approximately 30 years as a firing model gun, the ``USM9 Pistol Evolution 2 Heavy Weight Model gun.''
The stamp is based on historical research and is a "Made in USA" type from 1989 onwards. As mentioned above, it is a reproduction of the 92FS model with a larger hammer pin.
The evolution to Evolution 2 not only improves operability and design from the previous model, but also includes minor changes to approximately 20 parts, such as shock absorption and rust prevention. Enjoy the US military sidearm "M9" with its high performance and texture that allows you to fire with confidence.

[Major changes from the previous model]
・Addition of shock-absorbing buffer parts ・Rust-proofing and lubrication treatment for pressed parts ・Change in grip screw position ・Addition of grip weight ・Separate metal rear sight ・Change in extractor shape ・Use of heavy weight resin for grip and barrel
