Colt Single Action Army 2nd Generation 4-¾ inch "R-model" HW MODEL GUN

The new model gun of the "Colt Single Action Army (SAA)," which we have previously announced, has finally arrived as the official "R-model" model gun.

This product is based on our previous model gun, incorporating features from the highly acclaimed Pegasus 2 series SAA gas gun! In revising the older model, we incorporated insights from active fast-draw shooters, reflecting test results on stress, wear, and operational feel during actual use to refine the specifications of various components.

The "Colt Single Action Army (SAA)," born in 1873, is known as the revolver that symbolizes the Wild West era and is a famous firearm affectionately known as the "Peacemaker." Despite several production interruptions and specification changes, its basic structure has been passed down largely unchanged, and it continues to maintain high popularity to this day.

The model produced from 1956 to 1974, following a production hiatus due to World War II, is known as the Second Generation. Compared to the First Generation, differences can be seen in the base pin fixation method and the shape of the ejector rod head. SAA models from this era were frequently used in post-war Westerns, gaining widespread recognition through films and television and leaving a strong impression in Japan as well.

This new product, the "Colt Single Action Army 2nd Generation 'R-model' Model Gun," is an improved version that has undergone significant internal structural reviews based on the previously released Second Generation model. While maintaining the exterior reproducibility and handling feel cultivated in the conventional model, it is designed with a focus on improving operability and durability for firing purposes. Strengthening of the cylinder area and lockwork, along with optimization of the operating balance, has been achieved to ensure stable operation and increased reliability. In addition to the feedback obtained from the Pegasus 2 series, the design also incorporates the expertise of a legendary active fast-draw shooter, refining each part based on the verification of loads, wear, and operational feel during practical use.

Furthermore, by newly designing a hammer specifically for this model gun, we have achieved the correct hammer-down position. Through these accumulated improvements, the product is specified not only for its reproducibility but also with a focus on "being enjoyable to actually use." Additionally, the inclusion of W-cap cartridge heads allows for the use of either single or double caps, catering to different preferences. Dry-fire springs are also provided as standard, allowing for practice while reducing the burden on the main body. The cartridges have been changed to all-brass, providing both texture and durability, and an O-ring has been added to prevent seizing. The exterior follows the specific details of the Second Generation, maintaining a classical atmosphere—a model that combines exterior reproducibility with internal practicality.

The Tanaka Works SAA model gun, which has been improved over many years, has entered a new stage with the "R-model." We invite you to hold it in your hands and experience its evolution—an SAA designed not just for display, but for the enjoyment of shooting.
