The "Tokarev," one of the most well-known handguns representing the Eastern Bloc, is now available as a model gun from Tanaka Works!
New model gun releases are always welcome these days, aren't they? And when it comes to an automatic, you just can't help but jump at the chance.
This impressive new product features the "Evo2" cartridge technology used in Tanaka's latest automatic model guns.
Tanaka inherited the molds of the now-defunct "Hudson" and is bringing this model back to life after several decades. They also released a Desert Eagle last year.
Produced with modern technology, and made by Tanaka, this Tokarev is a model we are very excited about!
By the way, when Hudson made it, it was available not only in black but also in a silver-plated model. I have handled both, and although the silver version felt a bit unconventional, it was also extremely beautiful, so I would love to see Tanaka, who is highly regarded for their plating technology, release one as well. (Since the magazines and cartridges are sold separately under the name "For Tokarev Series," it seems certain that variations are planned.)
Designed by Fyodor Tokarev, who belonged to the Tula Arms Factory, the TT-33 was a further simplification of the TT-1930, which was adopted as the official pistol of the Soviet Red Army, to facilitate mass production.
Despite its fame, it had a short service life of only 18 years, until it was replaced by the Makarov in 1951, and original models are now rare. Among these rare TT-33s, this blowback model gun reproduces a model manufactured at the Tula Arms Factory in 1939, the year World War II began.
As it was originally designed for military use, it does not feature a safety device to prevent accidental discharge. Its design prioritizes reduced part counts and production efficiency, a characteristic that remains evident even in this model gun. Shock-absorbing components (recoil buffer, hammer buffer, etc.) are incorporated throughout, and despite being made of heavy-weight material that is sensitive to impact, it pursues a durability that prevents damage, making it a firing model gun that stays true to the original concept.
The ammunition used is the 7.62x25mm Tokarev round, manufactured to the same dimensions as the bottlenecked 7.62x25mm round used in the German Mauser C96, ensuring compatibility. This has also been reproduced as a new cartridge. The main material of the cartridge is scratch-resistant super duralumin, and the proven Evo.2 top allows you to enjoy a crisp firing sound.
In addition, the magazine components have undergone SQP treatment, which offers excellent rust and scratch resistance. Please enjoy the top-tier firing performance that will satisfy even the most demanding firing enthusiasts.
