This is an assembly-type engine model that realistically reproduces the internal structure. Once completed, the engine will be powered by a motor.

Even the engine structure moves in the same way as the real thing, so you can understand how the engine works.

A five-cylinder radial engine that was the advancement of the engine installed in the Zero fighter.

The five pistons work in sequence to rotate the crankshaft.

Realistic Structure
The structure is the same as that of a real engine, allowing you to understand how a radial engine operates on complex principles. Even the internal structure of a radial engine, which is rarely seen, is realistically reproduced.

Assembly : The assembly instructions are presented in 3D images, and all you have to do is assemble the model as shown and tighten the screws. Those familiar with model building can complete the model in about 3 to 4 hours. It's a simple, yet satisfying assembly model.

The main assembly parts are made of die-cast aluminum and are assembled with stainless steel screws.

The parts are so realistic that they appear to be scaled down versions of the real thing, giving you the feeling that you are assembling a real engine.

The propeller is also die-cast, giving it a heavy feel, and the gears inside the engine and other parts are also made from aluminum.

The details of the valves, spark plugs, and other small parts are also excellent. The mechanism that opens and closes the valves via rocker arms is also reproduced in great detail.

All assemblies are secured with screws.
The hexagon socket bolts are mainly made of stainless steel, and the numerous screw holes have male threads cut with high precision.

Operation after completion
Once completed, the entire engine will be driven by a motor powered by the built-in battery. Not only will the propeller rotate, but you will also see how the pistons rotate the crankshaft, turning the propeller. The valves also open and close in accordance with the movement of the pistons.

Although small, the combination of reduction gears allows the propeller and engine to rotate powerfully.

It has a built-in battery that can be charged and operated repeatedly. A dedicated charging cable is included.

Once completed, you will be able to check the movement of the crankshaft, pistons, push rods, and rocker arms + valves.

A radial engine is...

Radial engines are engines developed for airplanes.

The five-cylinder engine was the Mongoose engine developed by Siddeley in the UK, which was later adopted in Japan for use in training aircraft, and evolved into a seven-cylinder and then a nine-cylinder aircraft engine to increase power output.

Compared to in-line engines, the cylinders were arranged in a circular pattern, making it well-balanced and suitable for airplanes.

One connecting rod is fixed to the crankshaft, and the other connecting rods move to rotate the crankshaft in a circular motion, creating a mysterious mechanism.

This product also beautifully reproduces the movement of the connecting rod and crankshaft.
