The Vityaz, meaning "knight" in Russian, is a 9x19mm Parabellum submachine gun developed by Kalashnikov Concern. It is an improved version of the PP-19 Bizon, heavily inheriting the design of the AKS-74U, but with a switch to banana-shaped magazines. It has been widely adopted by law enforcement agencies, including special forces "Spetsnaz" belonging to the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, as well as police organizations. It is a famous SMG, much like the MP5 in the West.
