*In response to the release of the 40th anniversary model, the name of the previous silencer-compatible model has been changed to the "DX model." The contents remain the same as the previous release.

The miraculous collaboration between the popular manga "City Hunter" and toy gun manufacturer "Tanaka Works" has been realized once again.

The Colt Python used by the main character, Ryo Saeba, has been modeled based on the Colt Python 4-inch R-model Heavyweight Model Gun.

Not only has the base body been changed to a model gun from the gas gun version released around the end of 2020, but the packaging has also been completely redesigned.

Furthermore, the included dedicated silencer is a different type from the previous model and is named the "Type II Silencer." It has a groove for heat dissipation at the front and a knurled base.

Another key point is that this model gun can use realistic cartridges, and in this version, the cartridges have been changed to "metal jacket" type bullets to match the specifications that appear in the original "City Hunter" series.

Furthermore, this new cartridge comes with a spring specifically for dry firing, a first for Tanaka Works.

Let me explain what the benefits of having this spring specifically for dry firing are.

Due to their realistic structure, model guns are subject to strict regulations to prevent illegal modifications, and are made with materials that are "intentionally weak." In revolver-type model guns, the strongest impact is generally when the hammer falls, and when this action is performed without gunpowder (dry firing), the impact of the hammer coming down is directed directly at the gun body.

Model guns are weakly made to begin with, and if this is repeated, the strong impact of the hammer being brought down can ultimately damage the product.

To reduce the deterioration that is inevitable with model guns like these, there is an item called a dummy cartridge that absorbs the impact of dry firing.However, with this model, by utilizing the included dry firing spring, it is possible to use a single cartridge for both firing and dry firing.

In other words, this product easily meets the needs of those who want to have fun moving things around but are reluctant to use gunpowder due to maintenance and noise issues, making it a very welcome feature for enthusiasts.

This time, a special acrylic gun stand is also included as a bonus, so that you can fully enjoy the true joy of model guns - just looking at them.

Like the previous model, this Python features a newly designed illustration of Mashiba's initials by Tsukasa Hojo engraved on the frame as proof that it has been tuned by the legendary gunsmith Kenichiro Mashiba. The design is based on a highly accurate 1969 model and the serial number "E1919" (Ike Ike) is the same as the number on a car's license plate.

This work can be said to be the definitive edition for deeply experiencing the world of City Hunter.

In the Netflix version of "CITY HUNTER," it was used as the base for a flop gun (prop gun) and appeared in filming as the partner of Suzuki Ryohei, who plays Saeba Ryo in the movie.
