Kidon Pistol Conversion Kit

This is a modular conversion kit developed by Israeli tactical accessory manufacturer "IMI Defense" to convert a handgun into a carbine style. It is compatible with a wide range of pistols including GLOCK, SIG SAUER, CZ, Jericho, and S&W, and by swapping out dedicated adapters, one chassis can be used with multiple pistols, offering high versatility.

Unlike conventional conversion kits dedicated to specific models, the Kidon was developed with the concept of "operating multiple models with one system." It features compatibility with Picatinny rails, AR-style stocks, optics, lights, and lasers, allowing handguns to be used like PCCs (Pistol Caliber Carbines). It also incorporates many practical features such as an ambidextrous charging handle, ambidextrous design, and a lightweight structure primarily made of high-strength polymer.

Furthermore, IMI Defense claims to have conducted durability tests with over 15,000 rounds of 9mm and over 5,000 rounds of .45ACP, as well as testing in harsh environments such as sand, mud, snow, and water. While designed with military and police use in mind, there are no confirmed records of large-scale official adoption by specific agencies. Instead, it is recognized as a high-end conversion kit that is mainly supported by civilian shooters and gear enthusiasts. Although relatively expensive, priced around $600, its uniqueness, such as "multi-model compatibility," "Israeli-made," and "high expandability," has established it as a popular high-end conversion system alongside KPOS and RONI-type kits.
