Kidon Pistol Conversion Kit

This is a modular conversion kit developed by IMI Defense, an Israeli tactical accessory manufacturer, to convert handguns into a carbine style. It supports a wide range of pistols including GLOCK, SIG SAUER, CZ, Jericho, and S&W, and offers high versatility, allowing one chassis to be used with multiple pistols by swapping out dedicated adapters.

Unlike conventional conversion kits dedicated to specific models, the Kidon was developed under the philosophy of "operating multiple models with a single system." It features the ability to attach Picatinny rails, AR-style stocks, optics, lights, and lasers, and allows handguns to be operated like a PCC (Pistol Caliber Carbine). It also incorporates many practical features such as an ambidextrous charging handle, an ambidextrous design, and a lightweight structure primarily made of high-strength polymer.

IMI Defense's durability tests reportedly included over 15,000 rounds fired with 9mm and over 5,000 rounds with .45 ACP, as well as tests in harsh environments such as dust, mud, snow, and water. While designed with military and police use in mind, there are no records of large-scale official adoption by specific agencies. Instead, it is recognized as a high-end conversion kit that is mainly supported by civilian shooters and gear enthusiasts. Although the price range is relatively high at around $600, its uniqueness, such as "multi-model compatibility," "Made in Israel," and "high expandability," has established it as a popular high-end conversion system alongside KPOS and RONI-style kits.
