There are screw holes available for mounting both RMR and similar dot sights, and DOCTOR and similar dot sights.
The rear sight is integrated into the rear of the mounting plate and functions as a rear sight when the dot sight is not installed, so there is no need to change the rear sight even when not using the dot sight.
Attaching the mount body to the slide is the same as installing the rear sight.
