Colt Single Action Army 2nd Generation 4-¾ inch "R-model" HW MODEL GUN

The new model gun for the Colt Single Action Army (SAA), previously announced, is finally officially here as the "R-model" model gun.

This product is based on an older model gun but incorporates features from the popular Pegasus 2 series SAA gas guns. In improving upon the old model, we incorporated insights from active fast-draw shooters, reflecting verification results for stress, wear, and operational feel during actual use, and reviewed the specifications of each part.

Born in 1873, the Colt Single Action Army (SAA) is renowned as the iconic revolver of the Wild West era, also affectionately known as the "Peacemaker." Despite several production interruptions and specification changes, its fundamental structure has largely remained consistent, maintaining high popularity to this day.

Models produced between 1956 and 1974, after a production halt due to World War II, are referred to as the Second Generation. Compared to the First Generation, differences can be observed in the base pin's fixing method and the shape of the ejector rod head. SAAs from this era were widely used in post-war Westerns, gaining broad recognition through movies and television, leaving a strong impression even in Japan.

This new product, the "Colt Single Action Army 2nd Generation 'R-model' Model Gun," is an improved model with significantly revised internal structure, based on the previously released Second Generation model. While maintaining the appearance and operational feel cultivated in conventional models, it is designed with a primary focus on improving operability and durability for firing. Reinforcement of the cylinder area and lockwork, along with optimized operating balance, aim for stable operation and enhanced reliability. In designing, feedback from the Pegasus 2 series was incorporated, along with insights from active legendary fast-draw shooters. Each part was reviewed based on verification of stress, wear, and operational feel under actual use conditions.

Furthermore, by newly designing a model gun-specific hammer, the correct hammer-down position has been achieved. Through these accumulated improvements, the specifications prioritize "actual enjoyment through use" rather than mere replication. In addition, the inclusion of W-cap bullets allows for switching between single and double caps, accommodating various enjoyment methods depending on the application. A dry-firing spring is also standard equipment, enabling practice without excessive strain on the main unit. The cartridges have been changed to all-brass, achieving both texture and durability. The addition of O-rings helps prevent sticking. The exterior follows the unique details of the Second Generation, maintaining a classical atmosphere. This model balances external reproduction with internal practicality.
