What is the real steel MCX SPEAR LT?

The MCX-SPEAR LT is the latest model in SIG Sauer's third generation of the MCX platform, appearing in 2022 as an evolution of the company's MCX Virtus series. "LT" stands for "Lightweight," and it is designed for reduced weight and improved maneuverability. Compared to previous models, the barrel and handguard have been updated to improve front-to-rear weight balance and handling. The large, integrated top rail offers greater freedom for mounting scopes and red dot sights.

While maintaining the high reliability of gas piston operation, it comes fully equipped with modern AR features such as ambidextrous bolt release and selector, and compatibility with AR-15 triggers. The highly rigid receiver design, conscious of military specifications, and a dedicated three-pronged muzzle device make it fully suppressor-compatible. In addition to the primary 5.56mm NATO caliber, 7.62x39mm and .300 Blackout versions are also available, offering a wide range of options to suit various needs.

The SPEAR LT is a model optimized for civilian use, leveraging the next-generation rifle technology cultivated in the company's XM7 (MCX-SPEAR), providing high practicality and maintainability for competitive, defensive, and law enforcement applications. In the US market, it has received high praise as "a custom AR that comes fully complete from the start," and has recorded strong commercial sales.
