Product Description

Western Arms products are gas guns made of high-density plastic, allowing you to enjoy the same weight as a real firearm. The "Magna Blowback" mechanism, which controls the heart of the gun, allows you to experience powerful recoil shock just like a real firearm, making for realistic and exciting shooting. It uses safe low-pressure gas and fires 6mm diameter BBs using the same process as a real firearm.

Reproducing the maverick 1911 custom featuring a bobtail frame for ultimate concealed carry as a high-grade model with special G10 grips

Traditional Round Butt Frame

Since the dawn of repeating pistols in the mid-19th century, handgun grip frames have incorporated the round butt design, featuring a rounded bottom grip.

Smith & Wesson, America's largest manufacturer, adopted round butt frames for their revolvers starting in the 1870s, and it's said that the first K-frame revolver, released in 1899, also initially featured a round butt.

The reason for the popularity of this rounded grip shape was its excellent operability and comfort due to fitting snugly in the palm of the hand. Additionally, its high practicality reduced unnecessary protrusions when carried and minimized snagging when quickly drawing the gun from a holster or pocket.

1911 Round Butt Custom

Ed Brown Products, a long-established custom 1911 manufacturer in the US, reportedly began developing the concept of applying the revolver's round butt idea to the 1911 auto in the 1990s, which was then announced as the Bobtail frame in 2000.

Today, various US companies including Smith & Wesson, Kimber, and SIG SAUER, release custom 1911s incorporating the bobtail idea.

The round-butting of the 1911 auto is achieved through a bold modification that involves cutting off the rear angle of the grip frame and using a dedicated mainspring housing and grip panels.

These changes, while giving the 1911 auto a distinctive appearance, offer significant improvements in weight reduction and portability, as well as excellent handling thanks to a design that fits naturally in the palm of your hand.

TRP Bobtail Custom

WESTERN ARMS presents a collectible custom 1911 with a unique form that is unlike anything seen before, inspired by Springfield Armory's bobtail concept model, the TRP 4.25" CC (Carry Contour).

The slide uses a 4.25-inch barrel, the traditional short barrel size for .45 ACP. The latest markings with modern fonts are machine-reproduced on both the left and right sides.

The wide cocking serrations located at the front and rear create a tactical appearance and offer practical usability, allowing for easy operation even with gloved hands.

The front sight is equipped with a fiber optic that glows green under light. Combined with a low-mount tactical rack rear sight that reduces snagging on clothing, it provides an excellent sight picture.

The front part of the rear sight is deeply recessed and also functions as a cocking shoulder, providing an effective shape for operating the slide by grasping the top of it with the reverse hand.

The traditional straight barrel, combined with a thick barrel bushing, is machined from aluminum to reduce weight and minimize the impact of slide operation.

Another significant appeal is the generous use of metal parts, such as a metal chamber cover that reproduces the cartridge indicator and a steel recoil spring guide, achieving a hefty weight that evokes the feel of a real firearm.

Custom Points of the Frame Assembly

The bobtail frame is a luxurious item, reproduced by machining based on existing frame components. It's a custom specification with anti-slip checkering carved into the front strap and the bottom of the trigger guard.

The trigger, which has a built-in adjustment screw, uses a speed trigger that has been thoroughly lightened.

The hammer adopts a delta style, which has a larger thumb contact area than a ring-shaped skeleton hammer, making it easier to cock.

The ambidextrous extended thumb safety, operable from both sides, features a snag-free minimal design with the spur boldly cut away, helping to prevent accidental operation.

The high-ride grip safety is designed to prevent the hammer from injuring the base of the thumb when gripping the gun high up. Its characteristic feature is that while maintaining this function, the tail section has been minimally processed to be as compact as possible. A memory bump is provided at the bottom, offering high operability that allows the grip safety to be disengaged without conscious effort.

The mainspring housing, which forms a gentle curve along the lower corner of the frame, fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, providing a comfortable gripping experience that cannot be found in conventional 1911s.

High-grade specifications with genuine G10 grips as standard equipment

The left and right grip panels feature custom G10 grips, showcasing a striking pattern unique to the laminated material, colored in black and green.

G10 material is an artificial material created by compressing and hardening fiberglass and epoxy resin under high pressure. Its excellent durability and water resistance make it a favored choice for grips on real firearms and knives.

The panel surface features a scalloped cut to assist with easy access to the magazine catch button, and a complex anti-slip pattern. The reliable grip unique to G10 provides a secure hold and a realistic feel.

Solid Finish with Overwhelming Sense of Weight

The slide incorporates WESTERN ARMS' renowned side polish finish method.

The slide and frame are first sandblasted to achieve a matte dark gray tone. Then, only the left and right sides of the slide are polished, creating a solid texture with visible hairline finishes.

By leveraging the properties of heavy-weight material, a two-tone finish that evokes the feel of metal is reproduced, creating an indescribable beauty that cannot be achieved with ordinary paint finishes.

While being a 1911, the bobtail custom has a unique silhouette specialized for concealed carry, giving it an unparalleled presence. Please experience the one-of-a-kind grip, the only model of its kind in a toy gun, for yourself.
